I heard from a friend that there will be a new AG store in Atlanta. She said it would be near Lenox mall!! That is like 20 minutes from my house. This is strictly a rumor, and I have no idea where she heard this, but I had to share with others who would care. My husband was not as excited as me.LOL Anyone else have info, dates, etc...

From what I've heard, I don't think any new locations have been decided on yet, or even whether there will BE any more new locations! So I should think that a decision on specific real estate within a city would definitely be premature.

But, OH, WOW!!! I sure would LOVE to have them build a store in Atlanta!!! [img]graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

The rumor is probably a result of widespread wishful thinking--are you listening, AG??

Hey, if the Atlanta store is more realistic, than maybe the Seattle one is too! Yay! It's about a 6 hour drive from where I live, but that's not as far as LA!

Check the commercial real estate listings in the newspaper. If AG is buying OR renting real estate, it should be in there. And if they are building a new store, it should be listed under building permits.

I think Lenox would be the perfect area for an AGP. I don't live in Atlanta anymore, but I grew up there. It is centrally located in the South and I wouldn't have to pay sales tax It is funny, because I mentioned the desire to have an AGP in Atlanta a few weeks ago when talking to a customer service representative about yet another problem order. She hestitated for a minute, and then said, "Well you never know. I'll mark it on the account. They do listen to requests like this." If it is true, I wonder how much longer we would have to wait and whether my daughters will be too old for American Girl by then?

I am in Atlanta, I wonder how I could get info on this. Which paper would have the commercial listings?
    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I would guess the Journal-Constitutions. In Little Rock, ours are listed in the newspaper's Sunday business section - usually on page 3. If you want someone else to do your legwork, you might call the newspaper and ask to speak to someone in the business section. Tell them you heard a rumor and explain the economic benefits of an AG store. Chances are, they'll want to do some investigative work and scoop the official announcement (newspapers love that).
